Sponsor Spotlight: A Bunch of Good Eggs

Have A Seat and Get To Know A Few Of My Friends

As the December Giveaway nears a close (what? you haven't entered yet?), it's time for me to highlight my lovely sponsors.

Again, and again, I am amazed at the support I receive from my sponsors.   There is no way that I could offer such wonderful prize packages to Mercantile Muse followers without them. No way. Period.

In the true spirit of Christmas, these sponsors have each given a little of themselves. They work hard stocking their etsy shops with an array of items that all have one thing in common.......they're all handmade with love.

Isn't that the best?

If you haven't met these fine people yet, take a moment and get to know them a little better......won't you?

I've probably told you before, Kristen was one of the first people I met in this 'land of blog'.  She's been extremely fun, although a little camera shy (right K?) to have on my side. As if she's not busy enough with two small chitlins, she has a charming little shop Milo and Molly where she offers lovely paper goods and sewn gifts.  You'll find personalized note card sets, key chains, clutches, and crayon carriers to name a few.  Kristen also has a blog you should visit. Would I steer you wrong?

Dianne (spelled just like my sister....two Ns please) of ReMemory Designs has a knack for pretty ogranization. Dianne makes beautiful designer magnetic memory boards and has an awesome selection with a wonderful variety of fabric choices. Her designs also come in three styles: table top, wall, and mini.  I think they're a fantabulous way to display notes in your office, pictures in your living room, or grocery and errand lists in your kitchen. Whatever your need, there is one just for you.

Sarah of Upscale Downhome is a home decor maven. She's also 'A-dub' to me (short for Antler Woman.....oh yes I did tell them Sarah).  This gal has been on a hot-damn antler frenzy this holiday season, crafting away, mounting antlers on wood plaques with classic plaids and trim. Love 'em. She's also been selling 'em like hotcakes. The antlers aside, what Sarah usually focuses her energy on are her curtain tie backs.  Unique, varied, beautiful.....There is a pair for every decor imaginable.  She also has a keen eye for vintage and includes real keepers in her shop collection, though I'm not always sure why she'd part with some.  Another blogging pal, you'll find Sarah sewing, crafting, DIYing and hosting Window Treatment Wednesdays over on her blog.

Jessica is the artist behind JMM Studios' fantasy art and enchanting gifts. JMM offers cards, keepsake boxes, and jewelry. Jessica is a self taught artist who is drawn to fairies and sprites and such, some with a Gothic edge, and sometimes more earthly things like flowers. Each piece offered at JMM Studios is made with care and love. Many are one of a kind.

Salvatore and Amina of Studio Mucci Jewelry are busy bees. Studio Mucci Jewelry is their second etsy shop, the first being Studio Mucci.  While their first shop is focused on whimsical frilly things that add color and sparkle to the lives of others, Studio Mucci Jewelry is adorning your wrist with something special....one of a kind, handmade jewelry 'from their hearts to your wrist'.

Though Papyrasuarus might be last on this little list, those of you who already know its proprietor Ashley, are aware that she'd never be at the 'bottom' of any list. Her infectious can-do, what-challenge-is-next, I'm-edgy-in-a-fun-sort-of- way attitude would prevent that from ever happening, full stop.  Ashley is a crafting-fool and photographer, who has an affinity for book pages and tongue in cheek humour which is very apparent during any visit to Papyrusaurus visit. She's just began branching out into handmade jewelry. I, for one, can't wait to see what she does next.

Then there were two.....P & G, Pam and Gar, Bates Mercantile Co.  I think you probably know a good bit about us and our shop, but in case you don't, here's a brief synopsis. I'm a all around creative....artist, illustrator, graphic designer, photographer. Gar, he's a concrete fool. Both of us love history and appreciate the good story you usually find behind vintage pieces. Together we offer archival prints of original illustrations, must-have vintage and beautiful concrete home and garden decor.

Thanks so much for giving me your ear. It's always nice to tell you guys about people I think you'll like too.

If you haven't entered the December Giveaway {for more than $200 in handmade loveliness}, there is still time. It ends at the end of the day today, so be quick and put your name in the hat.

Festival Of Trees

I've got to be honest with you people, I don't have nearly as many Christmas Tree submissions for tomorrow's Festival of Trees as I'd like. So I'm asking again.........will you please participate? All you have to do is send me a picture of your Christmas Tree. Simple simon, yes? Holiday spirit, yes? It won't be a Festival without all of your help. So send me your Christmas Tree pics....pretty please.

Have a fantastic Thursday. Ours is gray now, but we were lucky to have a very pretty sunrise this morning. It will have to do.

Ciao for now,

People You Should Know

It's time for this month's sponsor spotlight. Why you ask? Because these people are so generous and talented, I think it's important to introduce you.

One. If you haven't entered, you won't have a chance. If you do, so excited you act like Tom Cruise on Oprah's couch. Except your excitement might last longer than his. Just sayin'.

I can't tell you how thankful I am for the support of these wonderful people. I hope you take a moment to check out their shops. They rock. Of course, you can also check out their other links and connect with them in different ways. It's worth it. There are great people to know. Just look at what they're giving away for pete's sake!

Who Are The People In Your Neighborhood: Sponsor Style

They're The People That You Meet

I know. The Sesame Street lovers among us now have that song stuck in your heads. Let me get to the point. Since opening our etsy shop in 2010 and starting to blog in 2011, I've met some pretty awesome people. They're talented, they're creative, they're hardworking, they're supportive and they are downright generous.

Generous? Yup. My sponsors this month (all people I've connected with along the way), are putting up prizes that, combined, total more than $180 in great stuff. I think that deserves a little recognition. Plus, I think you're really going to like them and what they're doing.

Ashleigh is a wonderful photographer in Washington state.  Her shop offers art photographs, photo blocks, calendars, iPhone covers, and even jewelry.
You will find Ashleigh & Bleu Oiseau here:

One thing that really makes me smile about these people is that these are not big manufacturers or stores, these are individuals. They're sewing, crafting, taking photos, or seeking out the coolest vintage finds. They're doing what they love and it shows. I love that the handmade movement is bringing us back to a place where we know the person we're buying from, and even if we don't it sure seems like we do since it's a person to person transaction. It's very cool that on this worldwide web it's being brought back down to interpersonal connections and that's how all of these sponsors came to be sponsors. I've met them a variety of ways...through our etsy store, through the team I captain on etsy, through Mercantile Muse and through facebook.

Then of course, there is my last sponsor who I did not meet via the world wide web, Garrett- my other half. He is of course, the concrete master behind Lia Artisan Concrete Designs, who is always mixing something up in his studio.

Now, what this sponsor spotlight brings me to is the fact that the September giveaway is winding down. You only have a few more days to enter. 12:01 am on the 30th is the cut off, so why not enter now to be sure you have a chance?

And by all means, show these sponsors some love. I think you'll enjoy checking out their links and getting to know them a little bit better.

Over and out,

Things I Found At The Party & Sponsor Spotlight

One Thing Leads To Another

I really enjoy 'cleaning up' after each Gotta Have It/Gotta Blog It Link Party, where online shops and blogs can introduce themselves to Mercantile Muse followers. I know that sounds a little confusing..........what? she likes to clean up after a party? Hear me out. I get to check out each link which brings me to either a shop or blog, and I have a chance to really look around.  If you haven't had a chance to look around the 'virtual online party' yourself, I highly suggest it (there is also still time to link up if you have a shop or blog). I always find the most wonderful things.

This edition of 'Things I Found & Overheard At The Party' was inspired by Muse newcomer, Cindi Ressler's wonderful beach photo which led me to so many other wonderful things. Don't you agree?

Did you have a favorite find from the current Gotta Have It/Gotta Blog It Link Up Party? I'd love to know. Feel free to share a link in the comments.

Sponsor Spotlight

You may have noticed that for the past couple of months, I've had a wonderful sponsor featured at the top of my right sidebar. LargeRugsCarpets.com has been wonderful to work with and very supportive of Mercantile Muse. What more can you ask for in a sponsor?

I really can't thank them enough. In case their name doesn't say enough about what they specialize in, 'wink wink', here's a little more about LargeRugsCarpets.com :

They have an extensive selection of Persian rugs and Oriental rugs in nearly all large rug sizes imaginable including: large rugs, oversize rugs, palace rugs, mansion rugs, square rugs, and even wide rug runners. The have fine hand knotted oversize and large rugs from all Persian weaving areas such as: Heriz rugs (Northwest Persian), Kashan rugs, Kerman rugs, Sarouk rugs and Tabriz carpets.  Just look at these rugs! I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite. I think they're all gorgeous. The thing I really love about Persian and Oriental carpets is that they are so classic they go with any decor. European, shabby chic, modern, retro, bohemian, or what have you. The variety of patterns and colors means there is a rug for just about everybody.

They specialize in large rugs, oversize rugs, palace rugs, mansion rugs, square rugs, and even wide rug runners. Now, I'll say this, my home doesn't qualify as a mansion by any stretch of the imaginatin, but 'The Bates Estate' could surely pretend to be a palace of sorts with a beautiful Kerman as the focal point of our living room.

Keep in mind, when I say largerugscarpets.com's selection is extensive, I mean it. Take a look at their beautiful large carpets and rugs. You won't be disappointed.  If you're in the interior design business, largerugscarpets.com will become your go-to place for rugs that make a big statement.

You will also find largerugscarpets.com on twitter (https://twitter.com/LargeRugs)

Many thanks to largerugscarpets.com for supporting Mercantile Muse with their sponsorship. It means the world to me. If you are interested in joining largerugscarpets.com as a sponsor, please email me and I'll send you the scoop on all of the affordable options.

As always, thanks for being here,
