Take A Walk With Us: Part Two

A Beautiful Fall

We took our time making our way around Pierce Island on our Sunday excursion. Time to take it all in.

It was truly a brilliant day.

The ocean was sparkling like an endless sea of diamonds.

It was so clear, it was as if you could just reach out........................

...the other side of the harbour.

A picture postcard day, to be sure.

The colors of fall were all around.

This Great Blue Heron was not happy when I tried to get closer.

He took off squawking a moment later.

Then we headed into downtown Portsmouth.

The good thing about parking on one of the higher floors of the parking garage, is you get a great view of the North Church Steeple.

We passed Bow Street on the way to Market Square.  The thing I love about Bow is that all the restaurants on the left side of the street, are on the water. Talk about great views.

It's hard to shoot a bad picture of North Church. Quintessential New England.

There are always lots of people in Market Square and Sunday was no different, except they were joined by this motley crew.

What a great way to spend a Sunday. The colors didn't disappoint on the ride home either.

The last two shots were taken from the car while we were on the highway, but I couldn't resist the colors.

What a great way to spend the day.

Our temps have slowly dropped since Sunday, and it's a bit brisk today. The sun is doing its best to shine and more leaves are falling.  There's no holding onto summer anymore.

Hey, I'm not sure if I've said this lately or not, but I can never say it too much anyways. Thanks for being here.

Ciao for now,

Take A Walk With Us & Freeform Friday

Autumn in the Neighborhood

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. Then by night, clouds rolled in and by the middle of the night, rain. It came down for a good while. I know this because I laid awake for three hours. Don't you just hate that?  What I don't hate, is waking to find that the rain is gone and the sun is shining bright on another beautiful fall day. A walk with Lucan was a must.  Come along.........

So much beauty all around, and even in one single, little leaf.

It just makes me feel good.

Freeform Friday

Something else that just makes me feel good. Bob. Marley. Any day is the perfect day for Bob and his positive message. Click here if you're reading via email.

This makes me feel good too. In fact, I don't know how you can watch it and not feel downright happy. My laugh of the day. Of course, the Louis Prima accompaniment is a bonus.  Click here if you're reading via email.

I'm not sure we'll get a campfire in tonight as there is a pretty strong breeze. Then again, if it dis down, we may just be in luck. It'd be a great way to enjoy the full moon.  No real plans for the weekend, other than I'd love to get that foliage ride in and G said sure. So that's a good possibility.  Other than that, just going to take it as it comes.

What about you? What's happening in your world?

Favorite Finds: Etsy

Falling for Fall

After that pretty little walk yesterday, I have fall on my mind. It's hard to avoid here, the trees are turning and leaves are falling. Like it or not, here in the northeast, we are well into the season of brisk nights, flame colored trees and yes, raking.

Time to embrace it and enjoy the season.

Today, via etsy and some favorite finds... a touch of fall......

The thing about fall is, your mind immediately sees reds and oranges, but there are plenty of other colors at this time of year.  For example? Well, here's my boomerang print and I can honestly say I saw all these colors on my walk yesterday.

Chevrons Art Wall Art, Chevron Wall Art, Chevron Illustration "Boomerang" PRINT, PRINT Geometric Poster

BTP (before the pool), fall used to be my favorite time of year. For good reason: it puts on quite a show.

I love living where we have all four seasons. I really do. There is much to be said for getting outdoors and enjoying them.

Have you been able to get out and enjoy the season?

Take A Walk With Us

Full On Into Fall

Gorgeous day here. Quiet since it's Columbus Day and that will allow me to get some good work done at my desk.  Before I got stuck in, the hound and I went for a walk.

Lots of beautiful fall, all around.

So nice to start the day like that.

Had a great weekend filled with friends.  Campfire friday night with our friends the Harringtons, the neighborhoodlums and the MacDonalds. Saturday I got to spend some time with my 'bridesmaid' Robin (far right) and my pal Deanna (middle), who had driven up from NJ for our 30th High School Reunion.

Don't judge my hair........I still had campfire hair on our drive by tour of our hometown in the afternoon.

Note to all you young ones out there who think you're old: you're not. 30 years?! How does that happen. All too fast, that's for sure. We had a blast. Lots and lots of laughs and not enough time to catch up with everyone.

Many of the spouses came and a good time was had by one of all.  {nice model cheeks Tiff}.

Like I said, it all just went by too fast.

Yoga Update

I did not meet my goal of 5 days. I got three days in. The good news is, it really bothered me that I didn't get more yoga time and it was pretty much due to time constraints, not because I didn't want to do it.  So, today.... Me time with the mat for sure. Going for another week with 5 days of yoga. Really looking forward to it.

How are you doing on that front? I know some of you were working on adding some 'you time' to your lives. I feel so much better when I take time to take care of me. What about you?

Does Your Dog Do This?

Morning Ritual

Since Lucan can't scratch his own back, it's not like I don't understand.  I do.

That's not to say, that it still doesn't give me a laugh every day.

There. Now doesn't that feel better?

Beautiful day here.

We went for our morning walk. Sun shining and warming up the day.

Clear blue skies.

Chartreuse leaves. Yellow leaves. A few orange and red thrown in for good measure.

The smell of fall in the air. The fading flowers. The apples. The pears. The dew on leaves that have fallen.

The sound of one leaf, maybe two, drifting to the earth to rest.

Dappled sunlight spread on the path before us, greeting the new day.

I hope yours started as nicely.

Silent Saturday

Color Change

Sun is shining. Fall is in the air.

G just finished getting seaweed with Ralph. We'll be off to the MacDonald's lobster bake shortly. Hanging with old friends. A good day ahead.
