Spring In Our Step
Hey you guys....Happy Monday!
I have to say, waking up to a bit of sunshine today was quite welcome here. It's not meant to last so Lucan and I took to the yard for a walk about. Despite the generally non-cooperative spring weather so far, things are doing their best to pop.
All sorts of tree buds....
.....including the forsythia!
Hello Gorgeous! (didn't need to make one single adjustment to this beauty).
In the woods, the ferns are unfurling and the evergreen remains, green.
And in the yard...........flowers, both gone-by and awakening.
Sunset Meadows
The weekend had a rather interesting end, gray clouds mixed with a bit of sun giving it its best shot.
I hope you all had a great weekend. I did a pretty good job staying away
from the computer (other than spending time deleting a gazillion emails
that were slowing my system down....more to do on that front for sure). It
wasn't very nice weather wise so we kind of just hunkered down for the
count. Then Sunday, Gar woke up with a cold. So I went into a cleaning
frenzy while he watched soccer on the tube. Then I said, 'that's it. I'm
quitting' and played around with watercolors for a couple of hours. I was finally about to
sit and watch some TV around 8, when our cable went out. Talk about
timing. Oh well, I went back to sketching and painting. Why fight it?
In other news: I beat G in a game of Yahtzee, made a delicious white sauce veggie lasagna, had some nice toast for saturday brekkie topped with the apple jelly my nephew made and was kind enough to share from his pantry, visited with the neighbors, enjoyed a little bit of youtube singing and dancing, oh............and watched my Bruins beat Detroit to take their first series on the way to the Stanley Cup. What did you do?
Make it one awesomely spectacular week and I'll do my best to do the same!
Ciao for now,

Still Life
Spring
Today I'd usually be hosting a shop link up party here on Mercantile Muse, but with the week's bombings in Boston and the explosion in Texas, I don't feel in the partying mood.
Instead, perhaps a sign of hope.

In case you missed it, in response to Monday's epic display of hate, I am spreading the love in one small way that I can. I am giving away my Grow Love print.
You can read more about it here. I'll pick a winner tomorrow morning, so enter before 7am est if you want a chance to win. I'm also giving away the same print on our facebook page, and you can enter to win each one in both places. No rules, no sharing necessary. I just want to bring a smile to one person's face, because.......because that is at least something.
Thanks to all who have commented already, your words are comforting.
Peace out,

Spring Mantle Tease
A New Season
I figured it was way past time to spruce up my mantle for Spring and get rid of the Winter white and gold them.
Call me a tease, but I'm only giving you a peek today.
Lots to do, so off I go. Hope it's a great Saturday in your litle corner of the world. We'll be working hard on making ours the same in our little corner.

Spring Has Sprung
In The Yard
I got outside at the end of the day yesterday. We went for a walk in the field and then I came back and did a little raking and weeding. Oh my, is there a lot of that to do. That's ok. Free therapy.
There are things popping all over.
My forsythia is longing to burst. Chartruese in all it's glory before it's full-on sunshine yellow.
I think I already mentioned the other day that my vinca is up too.
There is nothing more beautiful than nature. Look at the symetry of the white markings. Lovely.
The tiger lilies are all over my yard. Probably my easiest plant to care for. They could care less if the chippies are digging under them. They just keep multiplying and blooming. My kind of flower. My other day lilies are pretty good that way too so I just keep adding more.
This one was pushing up with a dew drop on it's leaf. Good morning sunshine.
Next door I got to have a puppy fix this morning. The neighbors take care of 2 border collies Tanner and Rio. Well, Tanner and Rio just got a new brother, Shane and he's over getting used to his sitter's place.
So sweet. Made my morning.
Muppy puppy head.
More puppy time later, for sure.
In other news 'round these here parts. Do you remember my paper star tutorial?
Well, lucky me. It was featured on 'OrSoSheSays' yesterday. Many thanks to Mariel.
Have a fabulous day in your corner of the world. I'm going to do the same in mine.
