Have a Look & Read

Magazines, Look Books, and Books

Have you noticed all the great online magazines of late? How about the books you can self publish with the help of some wonderful sites? And look books? Put that on the list.  The internet has brought an entirely new wave of self-publishers. Note to self: bloggers are among them.

The idea of creating my own look book or magazine has been wandering around my head for quite awhile. Seeing so much inspiration in this department keeps bringing it to the forefront of my mind. I'm not sure there is any ignoring it now. It's time to put it on the to do list. In pen, so it can't be erased. (Now, just to find the time.............)

Here are some I quite fancy:

HeartHome

I love discovering what new issues hold. The styling is beautiful. The photographs are beautiful. And as you can tell by the title, focused on the home. Per the HeartHome website: 'celebrating all that is unique and good about interior decor and lifestyle'.

Covet Garden

Another beautiful online magazine focused on the homes. Real homes. The images and articles are beautiful and according to the Covet Garden website: its for people 'curious about real spaces. We take a peek into the homes and lives ........(and) spaces that have not been styled by interior decorators. Covet Garden is inspirational, not aspirational'.

Jeanne Oliver: Musings on A Creative Life

I love Jeanne's Look Book. It makes me want to create one pronto. The images, the poetry, the simple design and format.  There is a lot to love in Jeanne Oliver's look book.

Anyone can publish their own magazine or look book now with sites like Issuu.

The great thing is you can focus on any subject you want........an event, a vacation, a certain person, art, crafts, holidays. The possibilities are endless.

Artifact Uprising

On the book front, I just stumbled across artifact uprising today and I am so glad I did. Talke about making your photos look fabulous...........well, they do.  I will most definitely be making a book on this site. Simply gorgeous options in both softcover and hardcover.

Have you discovered any good online magazines, look books or self publishing sites lately?

Fess up (since I'm still in the 'research phase'.........ha!).

The sun is shining again this morning and Lucan and I had our morning jaunt.

Have a great day, it's a great day to have.

Ciao for now,

  1. hmmm, that's an interesting idea...a place to put my short stories...but then I'm always wondering why anyone would want to read my stuff anyways. :-)
good luck to you on this endeavor

  3. Whilst I don't want to publish a magazine (well, actually I say that but it would be a nice change!!) I am thinking it is time to revamp my blog into a magazine format blog to reflect what I actually spit out- lots of different interests and thought threads. I will be starting here (your blog) for a whole swag of ideas, like the links above :) so, perfect timing on this post my dear.
