Almost Silent Sunday

Fields of Gold

The Farmer Stuart and his crew have been haying the field for two days now. It's a process. The mowing, the fluffing, the drying and then the baling.  Today they'll probably be back to pop them into the carrier. I love watching the process. What I love even more is we'll be able to walk in the field again.  The grass was just too long.  Lucan will be happy too.

It's bound to be very hot today. There is a breeze right now, which makes it deceiving until you step into the sun.  We will thoroughly enjoy it while working about the yard.  And you?

  1. A farmer came and mowed and baled our pasture too. It would be nice to walk through it, except you end up covered with fleas if you do! We have absolutely horrible fleas this year. My husband went out yesterday to bring the horse in from the pasture and picked about 15 fleas off his legs when he got back to the house.

    Love your photos!

    1. angie, i can't say we've had a flea problem but the ticks have been especially rotten. poor lucan has lyme. he had to go for his rabies update and told gar to have them check for lyme, just because they're usually bad and had been worst. sure enough. poor pooch is on antibiotics for a month. hoping it takes care of it. damn bugs.

  2. Absolutely warm today, and we had the same thing- deceptively nice this morning until you got into the sun. Yesterday was spent visiting friends who thankfully have a pool, so today is for all the do-dads we didn't do yesterday. For me, packing orders, laundry, vacuuming, and hopefully finishing that wallpaper!

    1. junking!!! i'm jealous. i'd much rather be doing that, than raking leaves and prepping the yard for the 4th on a hot day. hope you get some good deals!
