Make Someone Happy This Spring
Hello Spring.
Where have you been all Winter?
There is still a chill in the air here, but the sun is trying its best and beggars can't be choosers. Regardless, I've got spring on my mind and it conjures up notions of pretty pastels, hyacinths and tulips and daffodils scenting the air, and Easter celebrations.
So, what better way make your Spring gift giving even more memorable? Why FREE printable pastel polka dot gift tags of course. There is just something about polka dots that make me downright happy and I'm here to spread a little happiness with these free printable gift tags.
I simply combined them with some wrapping paper I easily created with white paper and sharpies. That sure was easy. Happy, happy, happy!
They'd look equally sweet as Easter basket gift tags or chocolate bunny.
They are designed 6 large and 3 minis to an 8.5 x 11 sheet. Printing on a heavier paper stock, works great. I used 110 lb plain white.
I'm sure you can think of a bunch of different ways to make your presents pop with these free printable gift tags.
You can download them here.
And by all means, spread a little happy.
FREEFORM Friday
I am ready for the weekend. It has been a busy week. One of the best thing about the weekend is letting your hair down and having a few laughs. Check out this post by my blogging pal Diana over at exPresso. So, to join in, here's a laugh or two for all of you. Carol Burnett is one of my favorites. She always makes me laugh. This is a classic skit that I'm sure some of you remember.........."I saw it in a window and just had to have it." Gets me every time. Click here if reading via email.
Here's Carol taking questions from the audience. I love seeing comics interact with live audiences and you see just how quick they are. And the Maude ringer sleighs me. She rocks. Click here if reading via email.
I hope you have a lovely weekend planned. I can't say we have anything planned. Perhaps a campfire out back tonight or maybe a little youtube dancing and singing. You know that's the way we roll around here. I'll surely be looking for a Sunday drive which gets me away from my desk. Other than that, we'll take whatever comes our way. What about you? What's hot for the weekend?
Ciao for now,

Time to get in the holiday mood. Sort of. This isn't necessarily a Christmas song, but the performance is on the streets of Dublin at Christmastime and it makes me miss our family and friends in Ireland and abroad. Yes, I'm a sentimental fool. This is one of our favorites and yes, we sing along every time we play it. If you don't know Irish music, this is a classic. Oh to be in Dublin at Christmastime.....it's been awhile. Click here to view (embedding has been disabled on youtube).
Can you tell I'm utterly relaxed today? Well. I am. I had a neck, face and shoulder massage last night. Hello heaven! It was a gift last Christmas from my sister in law and I gotta tell ya, I'm ready to book one every week. It was unbelievably awesome.
I'll be working on putting the first edition of the muse to bed this weekend. Fingers crossed it will launch at the beginning of the week. I'm running behind schedule, because my desk is incredibly busy and most of all, because I want it to be stellar! So hang tight. It is coming.
Any parties or celebrations this weekend? None for us, so we'll just hunker down for the 'storm' and see how it pans out. The wood stove will be cranking to be sure.
Have a good one.

NYC & Italy for FREE!
An About Time Free Printable
Wow. It's been ages since I gave you guys a free printable. It is not only 'about time', it's past time.
So, here it is. In celebration of our impending departure to NYC for my 25th college reunion with the Mounties, gift tags of a couple of our favorite places.....Italy and NYC. These tags feature great vintage maps.
They would be perfect to use for your Father's Day gifts, graduation gifts, or what have you.
We hope the next time we get to Italy (hey, a girl has to dream, right?), we'll get to visit this region- Apulia. My great grandparents set sail from here for the US and it gives us a good excuse to explore beyond Rome on our next trip (though we'd be quite happy to just enjoy the Eternal City).
Before we get back to Italy though, as I said, it's off to NYC.
The two of us are so happy to get one of our home away from homes (the second being Dublin).
We love downtown. We simply feel at home there.
If you'd like to download these gift tags to print off and use, you can right click the image below and save to file, or you can left click the picture and it will bring you to the link to download the pdf. Either way, you should be good to go. Feel free to share this post on facebook or pinterest (at bottom of post) in case you know others who would enjoy them.
We are really looking foward to this trip for a variety of reasons. #1 I will get some Mountie time when I visit the campus of my alma mater The College of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday for the reunion dinner dance.
I can always count on my Mounties to do anything for a laugh. I never have to worry about having fun with them.
We don't care about being ridiculous or looking stupid. It's all in the name of love and laughter. We are sure to dance up a storm and wreak some havoc at the Mount. It's just a given.
Beyond that, this trip is kismet. We'll be arriving in NYC the same time as our niece Ali and her boyfriend are arriving from Dublin.
It's her birthday Friday so we get to celebrate with her. So cool. We skyped with them yesterday and we are all psyched. It will be the first time we meet Jay. I'm not worried, as I'm sure they've prepared him for us. I'm just happy because it's been two years since we've seen Ali in person.
Beyond all that, we'll get to other people we love who we don't get to see enough. All in all, it'll be grand.
Enjoy the gift tags and have a great Tuesday. My corner of the world is still gray and rainy. The sun was trying to make a break, but it didn't succeed yet.

Gotta Have It Shop & Blog Link Up Party
It's time once again for online shop owners and bloggers to promote their stuff. For those of you who don't own shops, and don't blog, check out the links! It's a fun way to explore.
Now, get a glass of some noggy groggy, and add your shop or blog link if you got 'em.
It's pretty easy. READ THIS before linking:
*After you've linked up, take a look around Mercantile Muse. We'd love you to follow if you're so inclined.
*Post one link. Two if you link one under Gotta Have It (for shops, crafters, artisans, vintage sellers) and one under Gotta Blog It (for bloggers).
*Check out other participants that catch your eye. You never know what may come back to you for taking a moment to support fellow participants.
*Share a link to Gotta Have It link up. If we all share, the party will get more traffic which benefits us all-- blog, tweet, facebook, etc. If you blog and are so inclined to grab a button (from Mercantile Muse's button page) and feature it on your blog, that would be, as we say 'round these parts, wicked awesome.
*Feel free to leave a comment and be sure to check back Friday when I feature some things I've found through the link up. It could be you!
Time to party! Would you like nutmeg with that nog?
For those of you in the U.S., have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow and travel safely. To all, I am very thankful that you take the time to be here.
Peace,

Stylish Gift Giving with Free Gift Tag Printable
Holiday Gift Wrapping Doesn't Have to Be So Literal
Over the years I have used a multitude of 'untraditional' wrapping which have included: plain white paper, newspaper, paper bags, plastic bags, dishtowels, cloth napkins, paper that I've embellished, raffia, jute, re-purposed ribbon, pine cones, holly - the list goes on.
I guess my take on gift wrapping for the holidays or other occasions is, as long as the wrapping makes the recipient feel like they're getting something special, then no other rules apply.
There are always embellishments that can be added to make gifts holiday specific.
You could certainly add one bold pop of red, or subtle silver and gold, to tie in the holiday theme.
Then again, you have the choice to introduce a new color you haven't used before into your holiday gift wrapping. One year I used lots of purple and it was gorgeous.
In the spirit of making the holidays unique and special, here are some gift tags you can print and use.
Embellish how you see fit. I think they'd look extra special against white paper with a sprig of evergreen, a pine cone, or some silver ribbon.
Start your own tradition and wrap things up with the unexpected. Whatever you choose, have fun with it. Don't get bogged down by the usual choices. Make up your own. Just make it special.
Click on the image below to save image to you computer, or.......
click HERE to download a pdf of the tags.
There will be more free tags by the end of the week, and they'll have a little more traditional holiday feel.
Am I the only one that has thrown gift wrapping rules out the window? What are you favorite items to wrap with for the holidays?
A heads up, there is still time to enter our current giveaway and tomorrow is the start of our next Gotta Have It Shop Link up party for those of you who have online shops. For those of you who don't, it's a great place to find neat gifts all in one place.
Have one terrific Tuesday. I'll do the same. Thanks for being here.
