10 Minute Break

I heard a knock at the window and thought a bird may have run into it. I went out back to have a look-see. There was no bird down for the count, but it is probably what I heard. The bluebirds and others were feasting on my poke weed like Grandpa at the Church Supper Buffet.

So, I went back in to get my camera and take a real break.

If you're looking for a flower with staying power, may I suggest the Rose of Sharon. It's a shrub so you have to have enough room as they can get quite big. Talk about bang for the buck though, it's been in full bloom with it's big hibiscus flowers since the beginning of August and shows no signs of letting up. Bonus....the hummingbirds love it.

As you can see, it was raining here. It's let up for the moment. Tried to be sunny and then gave up.

I sat in my adirondack and watch the sun go down last night.

For The Birds

 

Blue Birds and Orioles, Oh My

 

I snapped some shots of the blue birds and orioles at my sister in law's last week.  She goes the extra mile for the blue birds and gives them mealy worms.

 

 

The orioles were all about the treats too.

 

 

They like her pine tree too.

I don't have to lure blue birds with mealy worms because we always seem to be fighting grubs in the lawn and they love them. They love 'em so much they didn't even care that it was raining.

 

 

 

They needed a break to talk things over.

In The Neighborhood

 

The bluebirds were quite busy yesterday morning.  Bopping all about the yard.

 

One stayed still long enough for me to snap a shot.

 

As I said, they were bopping.
