Storm Warning

Off To Rip, Roaring Start

How was your New Year's? Ours was as expected: filled with lots of laughs, singing, dancing, and house hopping in the neighborhood, and of course the obligatory champagne toast.  Yesterday was a perfectly wonderful down day at home.

Today, we're in the midst of a snow storm, or at least the beginning of one that started in the early morning hours.

It honestly feels too cold for snow at about 7F without the windchill, but it's snowing none the less.  There are storm warnings all over the TV because, although we only have a few inches at the moment and it's relatively calm storm-wise, it's supposed to ramp up with more snow and more wind later today and overnight. On top of that, the temps are supposed to drop considerably. Personally, I think it's cold enough.

Luckily, the fire is going and I'm inside.

We will be preparing for possible power outages due to the wind- filling up containers with water, gathering flashlights and batteries and candles, bringing in as much wood as possible, etc.  This is winter in New England.

If you don't like the weather here, we say 'wait five minutes and it will change'.

What it doing where you're at? Snowing? Raining? Or are you somewhere warm and dappled in sunshine?

I'm sure I'll be sharing storm shots on instagram.  Are you following yet?

That's all from Winter central. I have to work on some logo designs before we have any power issues.  Away I go.............

Ciao for now,

  1. In my home city Melbourne, we say " four seasons in one day" after the crowded house song. I used to take jeans and fleece in my bag to uni in mid summer, just in case

  4. I'm a big fan of summer, but your photo looks gorgeous! We were having quite a bit of rain this morning, no snow so far...

  5. Snow would be a welcome treat right now as it's pretty similar everyday in southern ca. but I can't really complain about 70 degrees & sunny (though I do anyway!) I hope there aren't any outages and you can enjoy some time cozying up.
