Let's Shop Here

Dateline: Australia & South Africa

This a new feature on Mercantile Muse and I hope you'll enjoy it.

We are lucky to live in an area with a vibrant independent retail presence. New Hampshire's seacoast region is full of great shops with a diverse variety of goods. The same can be said of many places across the world and I'm on the hunt for them.  Maybe someday I'll get a chance to visit them or I can just sit at my desk and pretend I'm shopping there.  If you have any suggestions for shops that should be featured, pop me a line at pbates at speakeasyinfo dot net.

Today's shops, were found across an ocean or two in Australia and South Africa.

{I couldn't find an online presence for White Nest. How disappointing.}

So tell me........do you live in an area where independent retail shops are thriving? If you do, what are your favorites and what do they sell? Do you visit them often or do you save a visit like it's a special treat?

Spill the beans.

Ciao for now,

  1. I try to visit, and purchase from, small local businesses as much as possible. hubby and I like to make a day of it once a month (or more).

  2. We have very few cool shops where I live but we find what we can in towns like Lake Placid and Burlington. I like your idea for this series!

    1. Oh I bet there is a bunch in LP & Burlington - but that stinks that your area hasn't hopped on the bandwagon. of course, it gives you an excuse for a little roadtrip. this is always a good thing in my book!
