What We Brought Home
Today's forecast. Rain and thunderstorms. So before it went South on us and it was still nice, I took the hound for a short walk along the field.
There is always something to admire on our walks and today we found some keepers.
The dogwood berries are actually from the front yard.
----------------------------------------------------
"Janey, what's the state flower of Virginia?"
"Mrs. Chapel, state flower of Virginia?"
"Dogwood."
"The dogwood sir."
"Thank you."
"It's a dogwood. Really? Hold on please."
"Janey, the dogwood is a tree. Not a flower."
"Actually, it's both. It's a tree and a flower."
"Are you sure?"
"What's going on?"
"Sir, it's a tree and a flower."
"The dogwood is a tree and a flower. I'd like a dozen please."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extra points if you can name that movie.
The rose hip is from the front yard too. The rugosa is right next to the dogwood.
The feathers will go into my bird's nest feather collection. Three today was a good score for a short walk.
It's now raining. Not hard, but still glad me and the hound went when we did.
Sunset Meadows
It was a long, ever changing sunset last night. It started out deep and somehow got lighter and brighter. Sure was a pretty show. Hope you enjoy.
It went on for over an hour.
Heavenly.
Did anyone else catch a sunset like that last night? We are so lucky to have our view.
Working on logo designs today. Not a bad way to spend a rainy day. Then again, I could be the dog and I'd be napping on the couch. Not bad either.
Enjoy the day.
Ciao for now,
PS- In case you couldn't guess the movie, it's from The American President which you can see here. The scene cracks me up because in the end, he doesn't send her dogwood. He doesn't send her roses. He sends her a Virginia ham. Kills me every time.
ok, I give...what movie???
ReplyDeleteand I love watching the sunset!
