One Thing I Love About Etsy

No matter what I've bought on etsy, there is always a personal touch added.

In the last couple of weeks, I've experienced the etsy personal touch phenomenom a few times and it always makes me smile.

Masako of SockSockWorld went out of her way to change the eyes on the arglye platypus I wanted to give to my two year old Grand Niece. She customized the eyes to make it safe for a two year old and and still shipped out to me very quickly. To top it off, she was concered with whether I would like it. Are you kidding? How could I not love this platypus (shown off here by sister Di)?

Too cute!

Last week, I treated myself to two things and was pleasantly surpised when they arrived.

First, I just loved these little hello note cards from KiwiTiniCreations.

A happy hello, right?

Well, when they arrived, shop owner Kathy had written a nice little thank you note and ..........................

.....included a couple of little gift tags as a bonus! Sweet.

Then, one of our prints was featured in a treasury alongside these totally mod earrings. They were screaming me (ok, a mix of me and Gram Gram, but I can totally rock them) so I nabbed them immediately from Revvie.

Revvie's shop owner Rebecca also wrote me a thank you note and included a bag of tea that I can't wait to try.

Honestly, where else do you shop and a thank you note from the shop owner? And receive something extra on top of it?

It's just one of the 'little things' that makes etsy special, and I love it. None of my purchases were 'huge' by any stretch of the imagination, but each shop owner made me feel like my purchase was special and that they appreciate my business.

That goes a long way in my book.

I know, I usually feature shops from the current shop link up on Monday following the party, but I just had to share how these shop owners brightened my day. Gotta Have It Shop and Blog Link Up picks tomorrow!

Happy Monday. Make it a great day.

  1. I love your Etsy finds! I am also enamored with Etsy and all that it stands for. It's really the only place I'll even consider buying gifts at now. I love knowing that a real human being sat down, created a masterpiece and sent it to me with love and care. :) And those earrings totally rock! :)

    1. it just makes you feel good about a purchase when the owner of the shop says thank you. probably one of the reasons I do it, because I know it makes me happy when I'm the shopper! oh yeah, how about those earrings. i wore them immediately. they're clip ons. long story of long ago.......my ears didn't particularly care for earrings stuck through them. these clip ons never hurt my ears, even after hours!woohoo!

    1. can't even stand how darn cute that argyle platypus is. well, first it's pink. not the usual platypus. then, it's argyle. let's up the cute factor. AND it's handmade by a fellow etsy shop owner just down the road about a half an hour. Just love it. never would have connected without etsy.

  6. What I can't get over on Etsy is how everyone helps each other! Take my latest additions to the shop (The Hedgehog Family). I've been looking for a pattern for the species for ages, happened to mention it to one of my recent customers, she gave me a link to a super pattern - listed just this evening - and guess where the source was? Not the USA, where the customer is: but less than 250 miles away from my home here in the UK!! Small world, eh? Mirrored by the Etsy global village!!

  7. I love Etsy too. I've gotten really comfortable with shopping Etsy. I buy all of my kids shoes, cards for my gift packs, and recently had a bakery set sent to my brother for his birthday. I've always been really happy with everything I've purchased.

  8. Isn't it great! I always feel very proud to be part of Etsy when I hear about this kind of service - it is amazing when you think no-one sent us Etsy sellers on a course or made us do a training programme - but somehow, there is a kind of Etsy 'style'.

  9. I think the cutest packaging I've received is from Mary Harding Jewelry. I ordered a great toggle clasp from her. The box was tied up with a colorful ribbon and one of her ceramic hearts. A perfect personal touch! Inside she had used tissue paper with a floral print. Beautiful!
