Favorite Finds: Neutral Style

Brown Transferware Plate

Back To Basics

Hi guys. If you've been hanging on the Muse for awhile, you know I love color. You probably know that I love neutrals just as much. A world without neutrals would be a lot less colorful, beacause they're what make color that much more colorful. The real bonus......neutrals go with everything! If you haven't been incorporating any neutrals into your life, let me suggest it's time to rethink that.

How sweet is this tufted titmouse?

Finally. This teapot from my own kitchen. My holiday teapots are away. Back to my everydays, which include this one which includes a little color but I still consider it pretty neutral.

What's hot for today in your corner of the?  I have a ton of work at my desk and some more photography since the light seems to be cooperating. I'll also be making time to move later. Yesterday I got on the treadmill at the end of the day for a half an hour. It's a start.

Make it fantastic, whatever you do.

Ciao for now,

    1. You're welcome Anita. It's so pretty. I've never been afraid of color, but I am also drawn to neutrals. I guess the trick is learning to balance them both! Best of luck with your new shop!

  2. I looooooooooove neutrals. I like to keep everything in neutral warm shades and add pops of color. It's modern in a comfy natural way.

    1. Courtney, love that 'in a comfy natural way'. There's so many different shades, and tones, and the fact that they go with everthing makes the possibilities endless. this is a good thing.

  3. I love your teapot. I keep forgetting I can make a whole pot and not have to keep heating the water up!!

    1. Oh I'd be lost without a teapot. A cup would never do!

And I have many teapots, that will finally be making their way to their cabinet which we hung in the kitchen last year (when we were done with that area of the remodel). But the teapots hadn't made it back into the cabinet in it's new space yet.

I love that one, so simple and pretty.

    3. well, i have to say........for breakfast....Barry's Irish Breakfast Tea. Needless to say, it's Irish so if your store has an international aisle you might find it.

My afternoon or night tea pics include White Heron Tea/Cranberry Apple Ginger (LOVE) - it's a local company but they are online. I'm not a big licorice person but for some reason I do like yogi tea Egyptian licorice. Go figure and I received a sample of tea forte and enjoyed the white ambrosia and black currant.

what about you Kristen? what are you faves?

    4. I've seen the Barry's. Maybe I'll give it a try. I like Twinings English breakfast a lot, LOVE Tazo Berryblossom White, Ahmad Tea's peach and passion fruit, which after finding it in the store had to resort to a small English tea shop near our old apartment (thus hoarding the last box), and I just today found Twinings Pomegranate Delight, which is lovely!

  5. I LOVE that necklace! And the bird! Well put about neutrals making colors more colorful, so true!

In other news I used the print I won from you at Crafty Scrappy Happy on my gallery wall. Did I already tell you this? I couldn't remember if I did, or was going to, but forgot, but then thought I did. I'm confusing myself!

    1. Isn't that plate fantastic? Anita just opened her shop on etsy and already has some great finds.

The sun is shining and it's warmer than last few days, which were freezing! I hope you're enjoying your summer Kellie. My friend in Tasmania teased me with pics of her kiddos swimming in the pool!
