Not A Kind Year
Hi gang. Sadly, we lost another dear friend this weekend. My cousin Eddie's wife, and our cousin-friend Gail. I'm not sure what to say about this year. It's really been something else. It's been filled with loss. Loss- one of the universal things we all share. Nobody escapes it.
Gail made a difference in people's lives as a teacher and then as part of the team at Enabling Devices, creating assistive technology for people with disablities. She made a difference in our lives just by being Gail....thoughtful, a smiler and a laugher, sincere, funny, starter of the Almond Joy tradition at the 4th, a dedicated wife and mother, and easy to be with. Gail and Eddie and their son Nic - the three amigos. It must be especially hard for Eddie and Nic right now and I can only hope that our thoughts and prayers console them even just a little.
Eddie and Gail and Nic started coming up for vacations and visits several years ago. The NH gang really enjoyed getting to know this part of our NY family even better. We've had many good times. We will remember them often and smile when we think of Gail who is gone all too soon and too young. She will always be in our hearts, smiling brightly.
Even though loss is a part of life, knowing that doesn't make it any easier. We feel blessed to have had Gail, and the other people we've lost this year, in our lives. They've made it a much better ride.
Rest in peace Gail. I know you're in good hands.
All for now,
