An Office Celebration

Houston, We Have Lift Off

If you've been around here for awhile, you might remember this post........No Shelves Today.  We often find that there just isn't enough time in the day. That said, I'm sure there has been time in the many, many days in between, but sometimes things on the top of the to do list get pushed to the bottom for whatever reason.

I am happy to report, that the thing.........that little thing that will help me organize my small office space and cause everything to be right with the world (is that too much to expect?), has been checked off the list.

I HAVE SHELVES!!!!!!!!

Neighborhoodlum Tom cut me some beAutiful pine that he selected from his pile out back (a pile made up of pine from trees he has cut down, cut into lengths and planed himself).  He left it rough cut as requested by moi, but sanded it just enough so I won't get splinters. Sweet, right?

The rest was up to the Garman.

We went with really basic brackets, that don't take away from the star of the show.....the pine.

I will be spending some time this week organizing and figuring out just what to put on the shelves and how to arrange everything for ease of use.

This is just a teaser glimpse.

Now the question is 'how do I make my beautiful shelves look beautiful with everything on them?'.  I want these shelves to do what they need to do, which is hold client files, office supplies, shipping supplies, etc.  I also want it to look nice.

So I'll be scouring pinterest for ideas.

Right now they're pretty empty and my small little corner office/studio is still a mess.

Hence the need for shelf organization. I like the sound of that......SHELF organization!

In case you couldn't tell, I'm doing cartwheels over here.

Nix that. I have never been able to a cartwheel in my life. Sure, I was a cheerleader and all. One who worked her split like nobody's business and was an awesome base in pyramid formations. And if you want to see exuberant........that was me.  But cartwheel? Nope. Not on my life. I totally chicken out and look like the biggest dork ever. It's truly a pathetic sight.

What I've really been doing is the Snoopy Dance. (click here email readers).

Oh yeah. Me and snoopy. Celebratory dancers.

No lie.

Ciao for now,

  6. Isn't it great how the simplest of things, like shelves, can make us happy? I just managed to finally put up shelves over my washer/dryer in my laundry "closet" and did a little snoopy dance too. (I can't do a cartwheel either!)
