The Talented Faces of Etsy

OK, maybe I'm not really talking about 'faces' per se, but I'm talking about Esty shops and shop owners, so grant me a little leeway.  Etsy is an online marketplace chock full of things you want, need, and must have (you just may not have known it.) We opened our Etsy shop Bates Mercantile Co. in December, and have since met wonderful people all over the world. They’ve been buyers, browsers and fellow etsy shop owners. Each day I am amazed at the talent collected in one big place. If you’re looking for something unique that is handcrafted, designed by an artist, or the greatest vintage items, then you can stop looking by going to Etsy!

One of my colorful favorites from Bates Mercantile Co. This printable wall art even made
its way to Onga Onga, New Zealand. Great name, eh? And yes, it's hanging on my own wall too.

I thought it was about time I shared some of my favorite shops and finds.

Today, Anek was kind enough to feature us in one her treasuries, which is a collection of items......kind of like a shopping circular.  In turn we featured Anek in ours today.  Love food and LOVE Ana’s culinary inspired prints!

Like jewelry? I love it. Doesn’t matter if you gain 5 pounds, you can still fit into your necklace.  Look at this fantastic one by levoyagecreatif.  Marte lives in Oslow, and enjoys travelling. I think there is something so classic and simple about her jewelry, that it’s timeless.

She also has a wonderful blog.  Like her jewelry…… clean, simple, classic.
The House of Oliver always has awesome vintage finds. Just check out this old camping thermos. “So retro".

Café Cartolina’s shop I found via Fiona’s blog. Her shop shouts colorful, vintage inspired, magical, whimsical designs.

And an Esty pick in honor of Gar, my other half, who is a concrete construction foreman and out working in the extremely oppressive humidity today. Roughfusion's mini mini concrete planter is so cool, it might even help with the overheating.

There is always a lot to discover on etsy. So if you haven’t checked it out yet, what are you waiting for? Yes, you have to register in order to buy things, but remember that you are buying from real people, not a big box store. As a shop owner and buyer, I can tell you etsy shop owners are on a mission to make you happy and the selection of items can’t be beat.
There is much inspiration to found on etsy too. Another reason I love it so much.

Celebrate Christmas in July and shop on Etsy today. Come December, you'll be ahead of the game.

Happy Tuesday. Make it a good one.

  4. Hi Pamela! I have been toying with the idea of starting an Etsy 'shop' to hawk my wares....just have to figure out which wares they might be! Do you have any 'beginner' advice?
    Thanks for sharing!

  6. Hey Laura..........do it! What about a shop with some of your 'famous' tablecloth rugs? Or could you do the same technique to placemats so you could just wipe them off? Or how about some of your 'need help' finds that you've repainted. Check out the wonders my friend susie has done with a little paint in her etsy store http://www.harrismarkshome.etsy.com One piece of advice.........Have enough items lined up in advance so when you open your shop there is a good selection. Make sure to relist items on a daily basis, not all, but some. It brings traffic to the your site. Of course, we're still new to etsy so still feeling our way, but more than happy to share what I've learned thus far.

Roughfusion..........more than welcome. LOVE that mini mini planter! as cute as concrete gets!
